Bus surfing

I made a new term this morning after watching people standing on the bus.

When people stand on a moving bus it does,'t really resemble standing but more of a wave or dance, sort of like surfing. So Bus Surfing is when people have to stand on the bus and it's a very bumpy, stop & go ride, and they are being jolted back & forth, side to side trying to balance and keep themselves from falling.

So my story today involves bus surfing, which is something you want to avoid if possible, unless you are like the lady i saw on the bus this morning. She got on and sat at the very back across from me. The bus was driving for no more then 5 minutes when she decided to stand. At first i thought we were approaching her stop but when i looked outside i realized we were on a bridge, and would be on it for at least 5 more minutes. So why did this lady take the time to wipe all crumbs & crusty's off the seat just to stand up within minutes of sitting down especially if her stop isn't for another few minutes. Since we are on the bridge the bus goes over a bump every 3 seconds, why would you want to put yourself through that? So as soon as we get off the bridge there is a bus stop but does she get off? NO! Instead she continues standing but puts her bag down on an empty seat beside her. So her bag can sit but she can't? Keep in mind the bus is packed and everyone is standing, and instead of someone sitting in the last empty seat, she decides her bag should have a seat instead! This makes no sense. I am starting to think maybe she just isn't all there?! At the next stop more people cram onto the bus and the bus driver asks for everyone to push back and make more room. What does the lady do? Nothing! She keeps her bag in the seat and doesn't budge. Everyone is looking at her waiting to see if she is going move her bag and sit down or let someone else sit there. I'm not sure where this lady was going but all i know is that ten minutes later when i got off the bus she was still on it, bus surfing.

Never choose bus surfing over sitting if you have a choice.
